Belle France
Website Redesign
Belle France is a popular site for booking cycling, walking and canal cruise holidays in Europe. Working closely with the Belle France team, I re-designed their site to bring it up to date and fix some long-standing usability issues.

Summary
The existing Belle France website was looking dated, and suffered from several usability issues. One of the largest problems was a confusing site structure that did not adequately surface the available holidays in the expected categories. My initial task was to help restructure the site by simplifying the hierarchy and making clearer user journeys.
Once the new structure was agreed, I put together simple wireframes of the new layouts. Much of the existing site functionality was re-used “as-is” as it worked very well and achieved good results. The new wireframes were signed off and I subsequently designed PhotoShop comps for all the new screens.
Belle France were looking for a cleaner visual direction that would feel contemporary but still appeal to their core audience of older travellers. I came up with a very simple colour palette and layout treatment that I felt fitted the requirements, and bar a few minor changes, it was signed off at first presentation.
I provided full screen layouts as requested and guidance for mobile layouts. The designs were built by the in-house development team.
In addition I also provided a template for a web newsletter, and a logo design for the Belle France Holiday Trust.
