Summary
I was involved in several capacities on this project:
- Content designer/information architect
- Front-end developer
- Project manager of third party developer
I worked closely with the client to flesh out their requirements for the new site. After extensive collaboration, I put together a top-level structure for the new site, based on two distinct user journeys. This was refined several times. The sitemap and user journey fed into the next phase of design work, where I developed all the wire-frames.
Once the client was happy with the content design and structure, the visual design was handled by other members of the Design Culture team who had already developed the new Carebase brand. PhotoShop designs were then passed back to me, and I used these to develop the entire front-end of the site by hand coding all the HTML, CSS and jQuery.
The final phase of the development was to integrate the front-end with a CMS. We chose to use Expression Engine and this was handled by an external supplier. I acted as project manager for this part of the build, working in tandem with the third party and Carebase the client.
