Summary
The original brief had two objectives:
- Re-design the information architecture of the site to reduce complexity and surface hidden content.
- Re-style the site to bring consistency and clarity to the existing piece-meal design.
A different web agency was already the supplier for the back end of the site, and had built the site on Drupal. The original plan was to work closely with them to overhaul the site structure. However it quickly became clear that this was a much larger undertaking than LMS had either the time or budget for.
It was decided instead that a simpler visual refresh to the site would be beneficial in the short term, while they considered the best approach for a full site re-design and re-structure. I therefore had a much reduced role on this project and only provided several PhotoShop mockups of the site for the development agency to implement.
